چکیده
The present study was undertaken to prove if the presently dominant quantitative “structure-activity relationship” theory of molecular signaling by means of chemical/physical binding, should rather be replaced by information processing using electromagnetic wave transmission. Rats after a steady-sate isoflurane N2O/O2-anesthesia were exposed to electromagnetic waves and the speed of recovery measured at regular intervals determining nociception, balancing on a rotary rod, and vigilance (EEG). Compared to recovery rate without exposure to electromagnetic waves the same animals demonstrated no difference in the return of nociception, a significant (p < 0.05) faster ability for balance on a rotary rod and a highly significant (p < 0.005) faster return in higher cortical centers and vigilance. These preliminary data underline the connotation, that recovery from anesthesia can be hastened by means of sinusoidal electromagnetic waves possible via activation of mitochondrial ATP turnover. *Corresponding author: Enno Freye, MD, PhD Färbistr.3, 7270 Davos-Platz, Switzerland, E-mail: [email protected]

P-179: Spinal Anesthesia in Laparoscopic Surgery of Infertile Patients
Background: Laparoscopy is one of the most common surgical procedures. General anesthesia as the only suitable technique for laparoscopic procedures is a concept of the past. A problem with modern general anesthetics is that even though patients can be awake and oriented shortly after cessation of the anesthetic. There is growing evidence suggesting that regional anesthesia has an important rol...
متن کاملAbdominal Pain after Cataract Surgery with Remifentanil Based Anesthesia
Remifentanil is an ultra short acting opioid that is suitable for many operations and is wildly used for induction and maintenance of anesthesia. In this article we have reported the incidence of abdominal pain after cataract surgery in patients with remifentanil based anesthesia. This study is a randomized single blind clinical trial on 300 patients who were candidates for elective cataract su...

متن کاملThe Effect of Inhalation Anesthesia with Hyperventilation and Total Intravenous Anesthesia on Intracranial Pressure Control in Pediatrics with Craniosynostosis Surgery: A Randomized Clinical Trial
Background: Intracranial pressure (ICP) control is one of the anesthesiologist challenges in craniosynostosis repair surgery, especially in multiple sutures involvement. The aim of this study was comparing the effect of two anesthesia methods including inhalation with hyperventilation and total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) on ICP control and surgeon satisfaction in pediatrics with craniosynost...
متن کاملThe Effect of General Anesthesia and Spinal Anesthesia on Quality of Recovery after Abdominal Hysterectomy; Randomised Clinical Trial
Background and Objective: The low quality of recovery after anesthesia has prolonged postoperative hospitalization time. The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of general anesthesia and spinal anesthesia on quality of recovery after abdominal hysterectomy. Materials and Methods: This study is a clinical trial on 100 women 35 to 70 years with ASA class I, II who candidate to abdomi...
متن کاملTapia's Syndrome after Corrective Jaw Surgery under General Anesthesia: A Case Report
Introduction:Tapia’s syndrome is a rare complication of recurrent laryngeal and hypoglossal nerve paralysis due to anesthetic airway mismanagement or malpositioning of the patient’s head during surgery. Case Report:Here we present a case of Tapia's syndrome in a 22-year-old male after corrective jaw surgery under general anesthesia, with a long period of recovery, related to airway management p...
